Calmshift · iOS App
Privacy Policy
Your tasks, loops and reflections never leave your device. Calmshift only sends anonymous usage statistics, never anything you type.
1. Who we are
Calmshift is developed and published by AlgoWisent Rafał Denkiewicz, the controller of the data described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at:
2. In short
- No account or sign-in is required, and we do not know your name, email address or Apple ID.
- Your tasks, loops, reflections, closed days and settings are stored on your device only.
- The only data the app sends is anonymous usage statistics (via TelemetryDeck), such as how many rituals get closed. It never includes anything you type, and you can turn it off with a single switch in Settings.
- We show no ads, do not track you across apps and do not sell data.
3. Data stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device only and is not sent to us:
- Tasks and open loops you create
- Daily reflections and mood ratings
- Closed days, the stars and planets in your sky, your streak
- Your work days, vacation, work end time and notification settings
- Other app settings, onboarding completion status and purchase status
This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults.
4. Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how many people use the app, which parts work well, where errors occur and how to improve it, Calmshift sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), which processes them on our behalf on servers in the European Union.
What is sent:
- App events with fixed names, such as starting the day, starting and closing the ritual, adding a loop, turning on vacation, sharing your sky, exporting or importing data, finishing onboarding, and seeing the purchase screen.
- When you close the ritual, only numeric ranges (e.g. "2-3" loops processed, tasks completed, streak length) and a yes/no for whether a good thing from the day was written down. Never the content itself.
- On purchase, the product type, price and currency (no payment details).
- On an error, a fixed identifier of the place in the code, without the error message.
- Technical data: device model, system and app version, language and region.
- A random installation identifier: a salted SHA-256 hash of the device's vendor identifier, computed on the phone. It lets us tell returning use from new use, but not who you are.
What we never send: the content of your tasks, loops or reflections, mood ratings, your name, email address, Apple ID, location or advertising identifier (IDFA). Your IP address, needed only to transmit the data, is not stored.
How to turn it off: statistics are on by default. You can turn them off at any time in the app: Settings → Your data → “Share anonymous usage data”. After you switch it off, the app sends one last signal that statistics were turned off, and then nothing at all until you turn the switch back on.
This data is not used for tracking or advertising and is not combined with data from other apps or websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). More about TelemetryDeck: TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
5. Notifications
Calmshift may send you local notifications (scheduled on your device) to remind you to start your day and your evening ritual. They are generated locally, so no data leaves your device to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings → Calmshift.
6. Export, sharing and contacting us
You can export all your data to a file and load it on another device, and share an image of your sky using the standard iOS share sheet. This only happens when you ask for it. You decide where the file or image goes, and we do not receive it.
If you report a bug or suggest a feature from within the app, your mail app opens with a prepared message. It includes technical details (app and system version, device model, language, number of tasks and loops, streak length) but not the content of anything you type. You can review and edit it before sending. When we reply, we use your email address only to handle your request.
7. Subscription and payments
Calmshift offers a monthly or yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase, through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, card details or Apple ID. For information on how Apple handles your data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
Calmshift uses two third-party services: Apple's App Store (purchases and subscription) and TelemetryDeck (anonymous usage statistics, described in section 4). The app contains no advertising or tracking tools.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share data with third parties. Anonymous usage statistics are processed only by TelemetryDeck as our data processor.
10. Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device never leaves it. You can delete it by uninstalling Calmshift. We keep anonymous usage statistics in TelemetryDeck for 2 years, after which they are deleted. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot tell which of them come from you.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For questions or objections about your data, contact us.
12. Children's privacy
Calmshift is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
