Focusoro · iOS App

Privacy Policy

Focusoro keeps your sessions, tasks and stats on your device, and sensor data never leaves it. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. The only thing we send is anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off with one switch.

1. Who we are

Focusoro is developed and published by AlgoWisent Rafał Denkiewicz, the controller of the data described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at:

2. In short

3. Data stored on your device

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is not sent to us:

This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData, UserDefaults and Keychain. If you use an Apple Watch, the watch app receives the state of the current session (countdown, position in the cycle, number of resisted impulses) directly from your iPhone through Apple's WatchConnectivity. This data does not pass through our servers.

4. Sensor data

Focusoro detects phone pickups using motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) and the proximity sensor. Readings from these sensors are processed in real time on your device only, solely to detect a pickup. Raw sensor data is not stored, never leaves your device and is never shared with us, not even as part of usage statistics.

5. Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which features are used, where the app gets in your way and how to improve it, Focusoro sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), which processes them on our behalf on servers in the European Union.

What is sent:

What we never send: task names or any content you type, your name, email address, Apple ID, location, advertising identifier (IDFA) or sensor data. The IP address, needed only to deliver the data, is not stored.

This data is not used for tracking or advertising and is not combined with data from other apps or websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How to turn it off: app Settings ▸ Privacy ▸ Anonymous usage statistics. Turning it off takes effect immediately and stops all data from being sent. More about TelemetryDeck: TelemetryDeck privacy policy.

6. Notifications

Focusoro may send you local notifications (scheduled on your device), for example when a break ends. They are generated locally, so no data leaves your device to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Focusoro.

7. Background sounds and report export

All background sounds ship with the app or are generated on the device, so playing them needs no internet connection. You can share time reports as text or export them to a CSV file, and share your focus imprint as an image, through the standard iOS share sheet. The image is created on the device. This happens only when you ask for it. You decide where the file goes, and we never receive it.

8. Subscription and payments

Your first 4 sessions in Focusoro are free. After that, the app offers a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, or a one-time lifetime purchase, through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information, card details or Apple ID. For information on how Apple handles your data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

9. Third-party services

Focusoro uses two third-party services: Apple's App Store (purchases and subscription) and TelemetryDeck (anonymous usage statistics, described in section 5). The app contains no advertising or tracking tools.

10. Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share data with third parties. Anonymous usage statistics are processed only by TelemetryDeck as our data processor.

11. Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device never leaves it. You can delete it by uninstalling Focusoro. We keep anonymous usage statistics in TelemetryDeck for 2 years, after which they are deleted. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot tell which of them came from you; to stop sending them, turn statistics off in Settings.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. The simplest way to object to usage statistics is to turn them off in Settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. If you have questions about your data, contact us.

13. Children's privacy

Focusoro is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
