Kitsungi · iOS Game
Privacy Policy
Kitsungi has no accounts, and your progress stays on your device. The game is free thanks to Google AdMob ads, and whether those ads are personalised is up to you. We send anonymous statistics to improve the game.
1. Who we are
Kitsungi is developed and published by AlgoWisent Rafał Denkiewicz, the controller of the data described in this policy. The exception is data that Google processes as a separate controller (see section 4). If you have any questions, contact us at:
2. In short
- No account or sign-in is required, and we do not know your name, email address or Apple ID.
- Your game progress and settings are stored on your device only.
- The game shows Google AdMob ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, and everywhere we ask before any tracking (ATT). Without consent you see non-personalised ads.
- To improve the game we send anonymous gameplay statistics via TelemetryDeck. They contain nothing that identifies you.
- We do not sell your data.
3. Data stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device only (Apple's UserDefaults) and is not sent to us:
- The list of vessels you have mended (campaign progress)
- Music, sound and volume settings
- Whether you have already watched the opening story
Your ad consent choice is also stored on the device (by the Google tool described in section 4). The game does not sync data through iCloud or any other server, so deleting the app erases it for good.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Kitsungi is free thanks to ads: a banner below the game screen, and rewarded ads you watch only by choice (for a hint or an extra minute). Ads are provided by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Ireland; Google LLC, USA).
Consent (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, on first launch you see a consent form built with Google's User Messaging Platform. In it you choose whether Google and its partners may store and access information on your device and show personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in the game: gear icon ▸ Ads ▸ Ad privacy settings.
Tracking permission (ATT). iOS then asks whether you allow tracking. Only if you agree does Google receive the device's advertising identifier (IDFA). You can change this in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking. Without permission you see ads that aren\'t tailored to your interests, and the game works just the same.
What does Google collect? To serve ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect: your IP address (and an approximate location derived from it), device identifiers (the identifier for vendor and, with your permission, the IDFA), technical data (device model, system version, language, carrier), information about ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostic data on how the SDK performs. Google processes this data as a separate controller under the Google Privacy Policy. Learn more about how Google uses information from partner apps; you can also manage Google ad personalisation in Google Ads Settings.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for storing and accessing information on your device and for personalised ads. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. Google may transfer data outside the EEA under standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
5. Anonymous gameplay statistics
To learn which levels are too hard, how many hints players need and what breaks, Kitsungi sends anonymous statistics to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany), which processes them on our behalf on servers in the European Union.
What is sent:
- Game events described by categories and numbers: a level started, won, lost or abandoned (dynasty, level number, number of shards, time remaining), a hint or extra minute used, a rewarded ad watched or skipped, a dynasty completed.
- Technical error messages (e.g. an ad that failed to load).
- Technical data: device model, system and app version, language and region.
- A random installation identifier: a SHA-256 hash of the device's identifier for vendor, computed on the phone. It tells a returning player apart from a new one, but does not reveal who you are.
What we never send: your name, email address, Apple ID, location or advertising identifier (IDFA). The IP address, needed only to deliver the data, is not stored by TelemetryDeck.
These statistics are not used for advertising, are not shared with Google and are not combined with data from other apps or websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in developing and improving the game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object by contacting us. More about TelemetryDeck: TelemetryDeck privacy policy.
6. Contacting us from the game
In the game settings you can report a bug or suggest a feature. The game then prepares an email in your mail app with the game version, device model, system version and language. Nothing is sent automatically: the message only reaches us if you send it. We use it solely to reply and resolve your request.
7. Payments
Kitsungi is free and has no in-app purchases. You download it from Apple's App Store. To learn how Apple handles your data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
Kitsungi uses Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (ads and consent, section 4), TelemetryDeck (anonymous statistics, section 5) and Apple's App Store (distribution). Music, sounds and artwork ship with the app and are not downloaded from the internet.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell, trade or rent your data. The data described in section 4 goes to Google in connection with serving ads, and the statistics in section 5 are processed only by TelemetryDeck as our data processor.
10. Data retention and deletion
Data stored on your device never leaves it. You can delete it by uninstalling Kitsungi. We keep anonymous statistics in TelemetryDeck for no longer than 2 years. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot tell which of them came from you. Google's retention periods are set out in the Google Privacy Policy.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase data, to restrict processing, to data portability, to object to processing based on legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time (in the game: gear icon ▸ Ads ▸ Ad privacy settings). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. If you have questions about your data, contact us.
12. Children's privacy
Kitsungi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
